First and foremost thank you for visiting my website, viewing my work, and for your interest in potentially working with me. Below is a list of commonly received questions that should help provide you with information you need regarding the tattoo process.
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
I schedule tattoo appointments on a submissions based process. This means that when I am able to accept new projects I will review the tattoo requests that I receive and determine which projects are best suited for me to take on.
Due to the amount of requests I receive, and the ongoing projects I'm working on, I am not always able respond to every request. In addition, this means I cannot take on every project that is sent my way. Inspiration and personal styling are very important factors when creating tattoo designs, and as such some ideas may not fall into my area of expertise or interest at the time. I'm looking for projects that will help continue my growth and further develop the style seen in my current body of work.
IS THERE A WAY TO INCREASE MY CHANCES OF BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes!
First, if you haven't already, I encourage everyone to visit my tattoo portfolio, or my instagram page @jawtattoos to see my current body of work and get an idea of the type of tattoos I enjoy doing.
Second, I will normally take on projects with fewer restrictions on design and styling before I will choose something that has very strict requirements. Good ideas and openness to creativity will get you noticed faster than those ideas that must be done a specific way. However, this doesn't mean that I want you to say "tattoo whatever you want on me." Some form of idea is good.
Third, for those of you who don't have clear ideas of what you would like tattooed, I do often have a book of available tattoo designs that you can look through and choose from if interested. It is always available for viewing at Reclamare, and usually they are priced at a flat rate. I will also be adding a “Want to Do” Highlight on my instagram page that will consistently be updated with designs I would like to tattoo
If it helps, I can say that I most enjoy whimsical neo-traditional, cute/cartoon/popculture, and illustrative work. I do not do photorealism, tribal/celtic, or watercolor tattoos.

If I think your project is well suited for someone I know either at our shop, or another shop in the area, I may respond with recommendations for you.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN YOUR BOOKS ARE OPEN FOR NEW CLIENTS?
When I do have a booking window where I am able to take on a wave of new clientele it is always announced on Instagram. You can also be informed about my book openings by joining Neon Tiger’s mailing list HERE
For 24-48 hour advance notice of bookings you have the option to subscribe to my patreon for a monthly subscription fee.
When receiving notice about my book openings it will state a date range for which I am scheduling. If you have already submitted ideas and have not heard back you are welcome to submit again when these openings occur.
With this new submission process implemented I am going to try my best to keep a running flow of new clientele throughout each year. Hopefully this means that I will be booking in 2-3 month cycles and my books won't officially be closed for extended periods of time anymore. However, I will of course be prioritizing clients who have existing work by me that needs to be finished, and this may mean that I cannot schedule your ideas immediately.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Pricing for tattoo work varies depending on the project. Tattooing is a permanent investment for each client and if you have a budget it is definitely something I'm willing to work with. In general I like to try and flat rate price my tattoos but a good basic formula to consider is the shop’s hourly rate.
Reclamare has accounted for the average pricing in Sacramento and we have come up with a rate for me that we feel is both fair and competitive, while not undervaluing the integrity of our work. My rates at Reclamare are as follows:
Shop Minimum: $180
$200/hr
TRAVEL RATE: For travel pricing varies depending on the location of the convention or shop I am traveling to, my rates while on the road start at $250 per hour.
Some pieces I schedule cannot be finished in one session. If this is the case I ask that you book at least a half day with me once each month, or a full day every other month. If you fail to make two of your monthly appointments your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to schedule. Appointments that are booked after a lapse of several months may be subjected to an increased rate.
HOW MUCH IS YOUR DEPOSIT?
Deposits vary depending on the project and sessions, but every tattoo requires a deposit to book. Deposits are due within 48 hours of scheduling either via venmo or paypal. PLEASE NOTE I will NEVER DM you on instagram asking for a deposit. Smaller pieces typically are a $200 deposit and large scale pieces (sleeves, chests, backs, etc) are $400. All deposits are non-refundable and are deducted from the last tattoo session.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS AND LOCATION?
I am based in Sacramento, Ca at Neon Tiger Tattoo.
The shop is open 7 days a week by appointment . We are located at 2737 Riverside Blvd. Sacramento, Ca 95818
I currently tattoo all days by appointment only. However I typically take Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays off. During holiday seasons hours are subject to change accordingly.
ARE YOU TRAVELING ANYWHERE?

DRAWING INFO:
I am not able to do drawings for clients that are not getting tattooed by me. If you would like to purchase artwork we have a selection of paintings and prints available for sale at Reclamare. I also have personal work for sale in the shop section of this website.
Tattoo drawings for clients with appointments are typically done the day of our appointment, or 1-2 days in advance. I do not do fully rendered color drawings however I might make a color mockup if I have time. When there is a draft of your drawing available sometimes I will post photos on instagram, otherwise drawings are not typically available for viewing before your scheduled appointment date.
